BCHS Dog Fritz Visits Bradford County Manor

Bradford County Manor residents enjoyed a visit from Fritz, a beagle mix dog available for adoption from the Bradford County Humane Society. Megan Snell, Community Outreach Coordinator at BCHS went from room to room at the Manor so all residents could pet Fritz and be in his company.

"I see how the residents brighten up when we walk into nursing homes with our shelter pets. They love to tell their stories of pets they have had through the years," states Jennifer L. Spencer, BCHS Executive Director.

Pet visits can be an integral part of socialization for the elderly. Currently BCHS visits The Bradford County Manor, Sayre House, and Ashton Healthcare monthly. They may also begin visiting the Highlands in Laporte.

If your business or school is interested in having BCHS pets visit your organization or to learn more about their shelter, call Jennifer at 888-2114.

The Bradford County Humane Society is a United Way Agency.
