Ziggy, a gorgeous Mastiff mix from the Bradford County Humane Society, had been at the shelter for 3 years waiting to find her perfect home. Although she has been happy at BCHS, a staff favorite, she had longed to go home to her permanent owners and have a place to call her own. Because she didn't get along with many other dogs, and did not like cats, she was harder to place into an adoptive home than some of the other animals at the shelter.
On Saturday, January 17th, Sylvia and Mitchell Wright came to the Bradford County Humane Society to take a look around. They had recently lost a pet named Sorey. They instantly fell in love with Ziggy and it was a match made in Heaven.
"Because BCHS does not euthanize for space, we take care of each animal here until they find the perfect home for them. Ziggy has been a staff favorite for a long time, and we are all so happy that she has found her perfect family!", states Jennifer L. Spencer, BCHS Executive Director.
If you are looking for that perfect 4-legged companion, albeit dog or cat, stop into the Bradford County Humane Society.

Lydia Wildrick, a Wylusing High School Senior, decided to do something more involved. She created videos of particular dogs and cats that have been at the shelter for a longer period of time. She posted some of the videos on youtube to give BCHS and those shelter animals more exposure.
We invite you to be a part of this exciting event! All proceeds from the evening will support BCHS in its mission to provide shelter, food, and veterinary care to abandoned, homeless and stray animals in Bradford and Sullivan Counties.
"Our dog, Chase, was from the Bradford County Humane Society. We visit the shelter during the Christmas Party every year so that we can help the shelter take care of the animals," stated Heather Henrich.
