Recently twins Brayden and Alyssa Pettitt from Athens celebrated their 8th birthdays. Instead of wanting gifts for themselves they asked for pet items to be donated to the Bradford County Humane Society. Various pet food was brought in to the shelter by the Pettitts.
We appreciate their support!

Birthday Party Gives Gifts to BCHS
Angela Sheeley of Ulster recently celebrated her 35th birthday. In honor of her birthday, she decided to purchase 35 things that the Bradford County Humane Society is always in need of for their shelter animals.
"I think I surpassed the 35 item mark!", stated Angela. The family delivered many bags of pet food, canned pet food, and treats for the shelter animals.
"I am always so impressed with members of the community that choose to donate items to our shelter in lieu of gifts or in honor of their birthdays," stated Jennifer L. Spencer, BCHS Executive Director. "A huge thank you to Angela and her family!," Spencer adds.

Fall Rabies Clinic Set
The Bradford County Humane Society and Athens Animal Hospital have once again teamed up to provide a low cost Rabies Clinic for the local community.
On Sat, October 15th from 10-Noon people may bring their leashed dogs or cats in crates to the Athens Township Building on the corner of Elmira and Herrick Ave. Patrons must also bring the pets' current rabies shot record.
The cost for the rabies vaccination is only $8.00.
"It is extremely important for animals to have a current rabies shot. Even if you think your cat is only an inside cat, or your dog would never come into contact with the rabies virus, you could be wrong. There has been some incidents of various wildlife being contaminated with rabies. The last thing you would want is to put your animals' life or your own life in danger, by your pet possibly contracting the rabies virus," states Jennifer L. Spencer, BCHS Executive Director.
